Hey, I just wanted to drop a few pointers on how to keep the humans that work here happy when giving us feedback.

We love feedback, good and bad (we mostly love the good, to be fair) but whatever you have to say, please remember that for the past year we’ve lived, breathed and poured everything we have into this project so to avoid making us cry (mostly with exhaustion) please do the following:

  • Be descriptive. It might be tempting to drop a screenshot with a red arrow and no supporting text but our bloodshot eyes sometimes need a bit more to go on. We’ve made thousands of changes to the code, so please just write us a few lines.

  • Try and be constructive. “The sidebar would be better if you considered…” is more palatable than “You guys suck, I hate you all - btw the sidebar has 2px too much padding”.

  • Tell us what you like as well! When we ask for feedback, the inclination is to scour the entire suite and look for mistakes, things that you don’t like and other oddities but we’d also love feedback on what you like.

  • Be realistic. We’d love a full size replica of the moon made out of Gouda but we’re unlikely to get it (or have enough crackers to pair it with). Likewise, causally asking for an entire new feature, or to bring something back we’ve removed is unlikely to get traction.

That’s it, now - let the floodgates open!
