Google recommends not using nofollow for internal links.

Use the value when other values don't apply, and you'd rather Google not associate your site with, or crawl the linked page from, your site. For links within your own site, use the robots.txt disallow rule.

Where have you read this? You should want Google to spider your site following links.

On the official Google website. Google says that you cannot use nofollow for internal links and the same path in robots.txt because these two files are mutually exclusive and Google does not have access to them.

Example. You don't need to use nofollow for /login/ because this path is already in robots.txt.
